Six pupils from Eccles School set off for North Wales with staff last Thursday. This year the group stayed at YHA Bryn Gwynant situated at the foot of Snowdon. Rather than spending the weekend walking, the group had already decided to revert to plan B, particularly considering the poor weather conditions over the Snowdonia mountains.
Plan B took them to Beaumaris Castle, Anglesey and to the most famous of all of Edward I castles at Caernarfon. Everyone really enjoyed the cruise in the Menai Straits and the wildlife on Puffin Island, including a rare sighting of a seal and a puffin.
The afternoon activity took the group to the Sygun Copper Mines, before they returned home just after tea on Sunday after an enjoyable weekend.
