Support Worker (Late Afternoon/Twilight Shift)

Salary: £8.50 post probation, rising to £8.75 with a QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.

Hours: Late afternoon – Late Evening (Flexible start and finish times can be discussed at interview).

Location: Aurora Meldreth Manor, Hertfordshire/Cambridge SG8 6LG

Are you someone who wants to feel proud of what you do each day to make the life of a child or young adult with disabilities better? You don’t need to have any formal qualifications as we can help you with that – what you do need is energy, enthusiasm and passion to help make a difference.

As part of our improvement and expansion plans we are introducing a brand new support team who will concentrate on the social and personal evening activities as well as supporting bedtime routines for the children and young adults.

This shift pattern will mean starting work late afternoon/early evening and working through until bed time and handing over to the night team. This is ideal for anyone looking to work around their own day time commitments and who wants a role where they are still fully and positively impacting the lives of the children or young adults.

Whilst the children and young adults’ needs come first, we are happy to discuss flexible start and finish times at interview stage.

Located on a 14-acre site, Aurora Meldreth Manor is a school and children’s home for children aged 6-19 and Orchard Manor is a transitional service for young adults aged 19-25 – both support individuals who have complex communication difficulties, including severe and profound learning difficulties, physical and sensory difficulties and complex health needs which impact on their daily lives.

As a Support Worker you will play one of the most important roles in a child or young adult’s world, as you ensure that they receive care and support they need and deserve helping them to achieve their full potential

You come in for your shift, make this person’s life awesome, and then go home. Now that’s a good job. That’s a brilliant job!
