A place to live. Start earning. Build a career. Rewarding work.
At Aurora, we’re not usually known to blow our own trumpet. To be honest we’re not sure we even own a trumpet (though that could be arranged), but we are confident enough in this instance to say we have a job opportunity which is special and could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
Are you someone who wants to feel proud of what you do each day? Do you want to help a child or young adult with disabilities live more independently? You don’t need to have any formal qualifications as we can provide the training you need to become qualified – what you do need is energy, enthusiasm and passion to help make a difference.
As well an amazing new career, we are also offering you an excellent package that includes the chance to have a place of your own (subject to availability), live with colleagues (who will no doubt become friends), start earning (we all need that), will pay for your training (another bonus) and most importantly do rewarding work – and that’s on top of the supportive and brilliant team you will join. So, what are you waiting for!?
Here’s a bit more if you’re not convinced yet!
Located on a fantastic 14-acre site we’ve got two services: Aurora Meldreth Manor is a special school and children’s home for children aged 6-19 and Orchard Manor is a service for young adults aged 19+ – both support individuals who have severe and complex learning difficulties, including physical and sensory difficulties and complex health needs which impact on their daily lives. We are investing over £5 million into a full site re-development in order to make it a fresh, invigorating and great place to work.
As a Support Worker, you’ll be helping individuals to live the lives they choose and to ‘empower them to grow’. It’s a really important role, having responsibility for supporting people’s personal, health and care needs. Because you’re with young people for most of the day (or night), you’ll be a vital part of the team that enables them to achieve their full potential.
Accommodation: Onsite Accommodation Block with your own allocated private room with shared kitchen/bathroom and communal areas. Free parking available onsite. Rental arrangements will be confirmed at interview. (Subject to availability)
Local Area: Meldreth has a local pub and convenience shop about 10 minutes’ walk away and only 10 minutes’ drive from Royston town which has local supermarkets, shops and other amenities.
London/Cambridge: Meldreth is on the Kings Cross to Cambridge line with hourly trains giving you reliable access to Central London and Cambridge within an hour, ideal for your days off.
For those of you who are unsure whether to relocate or not, we also have stay over rooms allowing you to work a rota pattern and then travel home for your days off (subject to availability).
If this sounds like the career you’d like to develop, being part of our inspiring team will also bring other benefits that include:
A competitive salary
On-site, low rental accommodation options – no travel costs
Paid holiday – 33 days per year including bank holidays
Flexible working arrangements - part time considered
Career progression, training and support to achieve qualifications
High street discounts
Free on-site parking
Life insurance plan
Company Pension plan
