Salary: £14,817 - £16,206 depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week, term time only plus inset days (39 weeks)

Location: Aurora Redehall School, Redehall Rd, Smallfield, Nr. Horley, Surrey, RH6 9QA

Do you like the idea of being part of something from the start?  Aurora is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special needs and disabilities and as part of our growth strategy we are looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants at Redehall School.  

The newly opened Aurora Redehall School is a specialist day school for children who experience challenges with communication and social interaction.  Many also have difficulties with behaviour and managing their emotions.  The school supports children aged 6-16 years with communication difficulties typically associated with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism.  The school opened in September 2017 and has created an environment conducive to learning for this specific student profile, designed to help them re-engage with learning and enjoy school life.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career whilst you help shape and develop our provision to achieve this. As well as developing and delivering personalised learning, you will work with colleagues to support pupils with their daily routines, transitions and positive behaviour management.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Have good classroom based experience, or perhaps have worked with children with autism and/or challenging behaviour in a care environment with the knowledge, skills and understanding to ensure the needs of pupils;

  • Be highly motivated and have a passion for working with children with special needs;

  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.

Qualifications:

  • Cache Level 3

Experience:

  • Experience of working within an SEN school environment is desirable.
