Boarders from Aurora Eccles School had an energetic afternoon last Sunday at Kettishall Heath for Young Wardens Day. Their job was to cut branches and young trees to create a fence. The purpose of the fence was to direct the wild ponies (which were spotted in the distance) and the more human visitors away from an eroded footpath.
After getting a tool briefing and demonstration, the boarders set out using their bow saws and loppers like professionals to create the fence. After nearly two hours of hard work, everyone earned a well-deserved tea break! Samantha, the reserve Education Officer, said that she was impressed with all the boarders work ethic. Well done to all.
