IT Web Developer
Location: Corsley Central Office, Corsley, Warminster BA12 7QE
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum dependant on experience.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Aurora is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special needs and disabilities. In 2016 Aurora acquired two residential special schools and a residential provision for young adults in Bristol. Multimillion-pound investment has been put towards improving the living and learning environments to meet the high Aurora standards at these services.
As part of our next phase we are seeking an equally passionate and committed IT Developer to join our central IT provision.
The IT Developer will manage in-house IT web development projects across the Group.
They will develop, test, install, configure and document intranet services for central offices and sites and act as lead/single point of contact for intranet/web development services across the group.
Due to expected travel the desired candidate will have a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Acting as lead of all web development projects by providing on-going management and support of web services (such as company intranet(s) and in-house web services)
Design, develop processes and key procedures for implementation of website/intranet services - working with external IT partners to ensure projects are delivered on time.
Investigating and implementing automation, time-saving and efficiency tools and approaches - where possible
Produce and maintain detailed documentation of the intranet/web services rollout to aid upgrade and updates.
Working with central and site’s SLT to understand requirements and incorporating into appropriate service/solution design.
Co-ordinate with the on-site IT Technicians and third party IT Partners and suppliers to ensure that on-site projects and IT services rollout(s) run smoothly and to time and budget.
Remain up to date and connected to new web technologies as relevant to Aurora
Ensure that the relevant Aurora policies, practices and processes are compliant with all required data legislation, security and confidentiality.
Adaptive mind-set, the role may change and grow further in future to cater for group’s wider IT requirements.
Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 and other software applications such as Microsoft Office, Office 365, Sharepoint, IIS web server(s).
Working knowledge of WordPress, add-ons, Plugins and other content management systems
Basic knowledge or understanding of Linux servers
Familiar With Development and Debugging Tools for Cross-Browser Issues
Working knowledge of desktop and mobile web browsers such as Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox
Familiarity with single sign-on solutions and services
Understand how to troubleshoot problems from end-to-end
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and prioritise, basic project management skills
Ability to liaise with staff at all levels of technical knowledge.
