Head of Care/Registered Manager

Rate of Pay: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum dependant on experience

Hours: Fulltime, 52 weeks of the year

Location: Cranborne, Dorset

Important: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children and Young Peoples services (or equivalent) along with a full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential for this role.

The College:

Aurora is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special needs and disabilities. We are currently looking for a Head of Care to join our specialist residential and day college in Dorset.

Aurora Boveridge College sits within the beautiful Dorset countryside, within extensive grounds and is attached to a Grade 1 listed building. The college was opened in September 2017 after a complete redevelopment of the site and grounds. The beautiful and modern environment supports young people aged 16 – 25 with autistic spectrum conditions including Asperger’s syndrome, social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs. The college offers a range of academic and vocational courses leading to employment, further or higher education.

This is a tremendously exciting place to work. The college is growing quickly and the friendly and dedicated team are looking for passionate people join them in developing the college into an outstanding provision.

The Role:

As Head of Care/Registered Manager you will ensure that each of the residential homes meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose.

  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of young people and to ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent with the quality standards.

  • To establish and maintain a competent, motivated and confident staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance and support to staff at all levels.

  • To ensure that the Home’s policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively.

  • To develop systems for the efficient administration of the Home and to ensure that the fabric of the Home, equipment, appliances and grounds are maintained to the highest order in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.

  • To be the responsible person in managing safeguarding & protection concerns and complaints in partnership with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

  • To liaise with Local Authorities, Education, Health and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for young people.

  • To actively promote the Home’s equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies.
